Trees and Ants

We have been going with the Elders to visit a family whose little wooden house is next to this area.  They bring some wooden benches and 3 legged stools for us to sit on and it is perfectly shaded and lovely. Among these trees are a mango tree, an avocado tree, and a banana tree.

This kitten is studying what the Elders described as 'army ants.'   The kitty didn't want to cross over, so ended up finding another way around.

Elder Wheatley was catching some 'zzzzzzs' while we waited for the family to gather.  He had just had a very African haircut and looks like there is hardly any left - which was true!

If you look closely, there are a few of the big black ants along with the worker ants.  They were also going around the back of the area where we were sitting, so we watched closely and sprayed some repellant, too!
